Wrist Pain

Treatment Recommended:

Broken wrist or Distal Radial Fracture typically occurs due to a fall onto your open hand. The fracture usually occurs on the wrist joining towards the side of the thumb.

There are a multitude of causes of wrist pain, but the most common causes of wrist pain usually have to do with arthritis or ligament and tendon disorders. Arthritic degeneration of the wrist joint is a common cause of wrist pain and perhaps the most common area of degeneration is at the base of the thumb. In addition, tendinopathies, like DeQuervain's Tenosynovitis, can also cause wrist pain. As the wrist has many small bones, the ligaments that connect them can also get injured and cause both acute and chronic pain.
