She attended the Waco Family Medicine Residency program. She had a private practice for many years before transitioning to urgent care and occupational medicine. Dr. Nix works with many medical groups, physicians and specialists across all disciplines and has developed many local relationships since moving to Amarillo in 2018. She is very passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life by relieving their pain and getting them back to living the life they love. She gets profound professional satisfaction from providing nonsurgical interventions to assist in management of acute and chronic injuries for a diverse patient population. A proud native of the Texas Panhandle, Vickie’s journey in medicine began as an ophthalmic scrub technician, a role she excelled in for over 13 years. Her passion for patient care inspired her to further her education, leading her to attend West Texas A&M University and subsequently earn her Master of Medical Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in Orlando, FL.

Returning to her roots, Vickie has spent the past 14 years serving the Amarillo community as a dedicated Physician Assistant.
