+

Dr. Dawn Murphy, has been practicing medicine for over 35 years. She is board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. She received her medical degree from The Medical College of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Public Health from a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – West Virginia University joint program. As a resident she studied internal medicine, occupational medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Dr. Murphy’s interest in regenerative medicine came from her extensive work in geriatrics. She was looking for alternatives to surgery for her older patients who are dealing with chronic pain, many of whom cannot have surgery and should avoid frequent use of pain medications.

Dr. Murphy is a passionate advocate for educating her patients on the emerging research around regenerative medicine and helping our patients understand how and why our protocols work to reduce their pain. Dr. Murphy treats patients in our Avon, Glastonbury and New Haven clinics.

What are orthobiologics, and how do they help patients in Glastonbury?

Orthobiologics are biologic substances, such as platelets or growth factors, that support the body’s natural healing process. At QC Kinetix Glastonbury, we use orthobiologic treatments to reduce inflammation, promote natural recovery, and restore joint function. Patients with arthritis, sports injuries, or chronic musculoskeletal pain often see significant improvement in mobility and comfort without relying on surgery or prescription drugs.

How does stem cell treatment in Glastonbury differ from surgery?

Stem cell treatments in Glastonbury provide a minimally invasive option for patients seeking pain relief without surgery. These therapies use biologic materials intended to support the body’s natural healing response, with the goal of helping patients recover more comfortably and with fewer risks than traditional surgery. Many patients choose this approach to avoid downtime while still addressing knee, hip, or shoulder pain effectively.

What makes regenerative therapy in Glastonbury an attractive alternative to medications?

Regenerative therapy at QC Kinetix Glastonbury focuses on addressing the root cause of pain instead of masking symptoms with medication. By stimulating the body’s natural healing mechanisms and reducing inflammation, regenerative treatments help patients achieve long-lasting results. This approach is particularly beneficial for individuals who want to avoid the side effects or dependency risks often associated with long-term pain medication use.

How do sports medicine clinics in Glastonbury help athletes recover faster?
