+

Dr. Kristofer Tupper is a board-certified family medicine physician with subspecialty board certification in sports medicine.  He has advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and specializes in caring for sports-related, overuse, and age-related injuries.  Dr. Tupper brings extensive experience treating athletes and active individuals across the lifespan and works with patients of all activity levels to restore function, reduce pain, and support long-term joint health through non-surgical care.

Dr. Tupper earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine.  He completed his Family Medicine residency at Kent Hospital (now part of the Brown University health system) in Warwick, Rhode Island, followed by Sports Medicine fellowship training at UConn, where he worked closely with NCAA Division I Huskies collegiate athletes in Storrs, Connecticut.

Most recently, Dr. Tupper practiced at Mass General Brigham Newton-Wellesley Sports Medicine, where he evaluated and treated a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, including arthritis, ligament and tendon injuries, and complex joint pain.  His clinical practice emphasized nonoperative management, and he routinely performed a broad spectrum of injection-based treatments—often utilizing ultrasound guidance to enhance precision, outcomes, and patient comfort.

Dr. Tupper’s clinical interests include sports medicine, regenerative and injection-based therapies, and ultrasound-guided procedures.  He takes a patient-centered, evidence-based approach, developing individualized care plans that prioritize recovery, function, and long-term musculoskeletal health.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Tupper enjoys spending time with his wife as they enthusiastically navigate homeownership, gardening, and home improvement projects.  He is an avid board sports enthusiast—including snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding, and wakesurfing—new to golf, and also enjoys fly fishing, hiking and trail walks, cooking together with his wife (especially homemade pasta and pizza), and trying his hand at amateur mixology.  He values spending time with family in Maine, Vermont, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

FAQs About Our Clinic

What are the benefits of stem cell treatment in South Portland compared to surgery?

Stem cell treatment in South Portland offers a nonsurgical alternative for patients dealing with arthritis pain, joint stiffness, and sports injuries. Unlike surgery, which often requires long recovery times and carries higher risks, stem cell treatment works with the body’s natural healing process to aid in recovery. Patients typically experience shorter recovery windows, fewer complications, and less reliance on prescription medications. This approach allows individuals to return to their daily routines faster while addressing pain at the root. For many, stem cell treatment provides a safer, more sustainable path to long-term mobility and pain relief.

Who is a good candidate for stem cell treatment in South Portland?

Stem cell treatment in South Portland is most effective for patients experiencing chronic joint pain, arthritis, or sports-related injuries that have not responded well to conventional care. Ideal candidates are those who want to avoid invasive procedures like joint replacement or long-term use of pain medications. At QC Kinetix South Portland, our medical team carefully reviews each patient’s medical history and symptoms to determine suitability for regenerative therapies. By tailoring treatment plans to each individual, we help ensure patients get the most out of stem cell treatment, with results that support improved movement and reduced discomfort.

How does sports injury treatment in South Portland help athletes recover?

Sports injury treatment in South Portland through regenerative medicine focuses on restoring function without surgery. Whether dealing with sprains, ligament tears, or repetitive motion injuries, QC Kinetix uses biologic therapies that stimulate natural healing. This approach allows athletes and active individuals to recover faster, avoid lengthy downtime, and reduce the risk of recurring injuries. Unlike treatments that simply mask pain, regenerative therapies address the underlying issue. Patients often return to their sport or activity stronger, with improved resilience. This makes regenerative medicine an ideal option for both professional athletes and weekend fitness enthusiasts.

Why should I consider regenerative medicine near me instead of relying on medications?

Many patients search for regenerative medicine in South Portland because they are frustrated with temporary solutions like prescription painkillers. While medications may help manage pain, they don’t address the underlying issues and can sometimes lead to side effects or dependency. Regenerative medicine is designed to support the body’s natural healing processes and work toward addressing sources of discomfort. This provides a safer, more effective way to manage conditions like arthritis, chronic knee pain, or shoulder injuries. At QC Kinetix, our noninvasive therapies aim to improve mobility, reduce inflammation, and deliver lasting relief without relying solely on medication.
